The Ghana Police Service has arrested two more suspects in connection with the violent clashes that erupted during the football match between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko FC on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

The chaos spilled into the stands, tragically resulting in the death of Yaw Frimpong, a well-known Asante Kotoko fan.

According to the Ghana Police Service, the newly arrested suspects, identified as Isaac Ofosu and Yeboah Augustine, are currently in police custody, assisting with ongoing investigations.

Their arrests bring the total number of individuals detained in connection with the incident to five.

The clashes, which occurred at Nsoatre in the Bono Region, caused significant disruptions and have sparked widespread concerns among football stakeholders and fans, many of whom are demanding justice.

The police have assured the public that investigations remain ongoing and that efforts are being made to apprehend all remaining perpetrators.

Additionally, the Ghana Football Association has tasked Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Donkor with leading an independent investigation into the violent events at Nana Kronamansah Park.
