The Minister of Defence with the CDS and other Service Chiefs
On Monday, 3 February 2025, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Thomas Oppong-Peprah, along with the Service Chiefs of the Ghana Armed Forces, paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Minister of Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, at the Ministry of Defence in Accra.
The visit was aimed at officially welcoming the minister and fostering closer ties between the Ministry of Defence and the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
During their discussion, General Oppong-Peprah and the Service Chiefs pledged their full commitment to national security and the protection of Ghana’s territorial integrity.
They also discussed critical operational priorities and current security projects, underscoring their preparedness to collaborate with Dr. Omane Boamah in addressing new security threats.
Dr. Omane Boamah thanked the military leaders for their visit and praised the Ghana Armed Forces for their professionalism and commitment to national safety.
He emphasised the importance of synergy between the Ministry of Defence and the military in achieving Ghana’s defence goals and promised his support for actions that enhance the nation’s security framework.
The meeting marked the beginning of an enhanced partnership between the Minister of Defence and the military leadership.
Both parties expressed a strong commitment to advancing Ghana’s defence and security objectives, ensuring the country’s continued peace and stability.
