It was an important three points for the Gunners in their pursuit of the title, with a strong performance to go with it.

At the same time, transfer deadline day is here, with Mikel Arteta looking to add a final addition or two to his squad.

There may be some exits on the cards too, depending on whether Arsenal can sanction a move or not.

So with that said, here’s a look at the biggest Arsenal news ahead of the day.

Speaking on Premier League productions, Arsenal legend Ian Wright said on the clash: “I did say at the start you have to respect City but what has been happening with Arsenal is chances.

“They’ve had chances in games and not taken them and then other teams have got into the games.

“Today they were so well drilled and got the goals. Everyone’s confidence rose and that is what we are capable of doing.”

Mikel Arteta gives update on Arsenal transfer business

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given an update on possible transfer business for the side on transfer deadline day.

The Gunners have been linked with a potential move for a forward in the market, with plenty of rumours surrounding a switch.

When speaking to the press about a transfer, Arteta said: “My phone has been ringing! Our focus is on Wednesday.”

It suggests plenty of work is going on in the background to get a deal done, while the coaching staff look at the next game.

Arsenal have made contact over a move for Bayern Munich star Mathys Tel in the final day of the transfer window.

The Frenchman is set to leave Bavaria after struggling to receive game time, but he has seemingly rejected a switch to Tottenham.

A deal to join Arsenal could be on the cards though as Fabrizio Romano reports that contact has been made with Tel’s camp over a move.
