Ghana captain Andre Ayew climbed off the bench to score as Le Havre AC held Angers SC to a thrilling draw in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday evening.
Le Havre AC continued the top-flight league survival battle with a 1-1 away draw with Angers SC at the Stade Raymond Kopa.
The match turned more dramatic when the two teams played over 80 minutes with ten men each following the straight red card incident in the 10th and 16th minutes, which saw Lilian Raolisoa and Arouna Sangante taking early showers.
After a lack of goals after the hour mark, Le Havre AC coach Didier Digard made a tactical substitution with the introduction of the 34-year-old attacker as a replacement for Ahmed Hassan in the 70th minute.
Three minutes later, Ayew announced his presence for Le Havre AC with the opener before Florent Hanin registered his name in the 90th minute to end the match in a one-all draw.
Ayew has now scored three goals in 13 French Ligue 1 appearances for Le Havre AC in the ongoing season’s campaign.
