The vetting process for President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial nominees has resumed, with Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister-designate for Health, appearing before the Appointments Committee on Friday, January 31, 2025.
During the vetting session, Akandoh will be assessed based on his expertise, experience, and vision for the health sector to determine his suitability for the role.
The committee will scrutinize his policies, past achievements, and proposed strategies for improving Ghana’s healthcare system.
Kwabena Mintah Akandoh is a seasoned Ghanaian politician and a member of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, representing the Juaboso constituency.
He has previously served as the Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, where he played a key role in shaping health policies and legislative oversight.
His nomination comes at a critical time when Ghana’s healthcare sector faces pressing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, workforce shortages, and the need for improved healthcare delivery systems.
