The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations-designate, Samuel Nartey George, has emphasised that he is not disrespectful, contrary to public opinion.
The Member of Parliament of Ningo-Prampram said this in response to a question posed by Jerry Ahmed Shaib, MP of Weija-Gbawe, during his vetting on January 30, 2025.
Shaib, in his submission, confronted Sam George over some words he had used to describe actions by officials of the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration and the perception that Sam George was “disrespectful.”
“You’ve used such words as ‘useless’ and ‘gibberish’ and many actually think you are very disrespectful. I want the Ghanaian people to be assured that whatever they are thinking is contrary to what you are. Please tell us,” he asked.
In answering the question about his qualifications and character, Sam George emphasised his pride in his upbringing and the values his parents instilled in him.
“Opinions are like noses. Everyone is entitled to one. My mother and father, who gave birth to me are sitting behind me. And I’m sure they are proud of the son that they have raised,” he replied.
The vetting session continued, with Sam George answering further questions about his vision for Ghana’s communication and digital technology sectors.
