Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that his son Mateo prefers Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappe to him. Ronaldo, alongside his arch-rival Lionel Messi, has dominated world football in the last two decades. He has won five Ballon d’Ors along with five Champions Leagues and a Euro crown with Portugal to establish himself as an all-time best.

While the Portuguese stalwart may be the greatest football player to grace the sport in the books of several individuals, not everyone in his household agrees. The Portugal star recently spoke to Spanish outlet La Sexta TV and revealed a hilarious conversation with his five-year-old son. “Mateo, he really likes Mbappé,” Ronaldo said, quoted by ESPN.

Cristiano Ronaldo also admitted that Mateo often compared him with Kylian Mbappe and claimed the Frenchman to be the better player.

“He sometimes tells me: ‘Hey dad, Mbappé is better than you,’” he said. The Portuguese forward had a golden response to his son’s bold claims. “I reply by saying: ‘No, I am better than him, I have scored more goals,” the 39-year-old added.

While Kylian Mbappe has certainly amassed a ton of accolades in football, he remains one of Cristiano Ronaldo’s biggest fans. The Frenchman recently opened up on the prospect of sharing a dressing room with his idol someday.

“It would have been fun to play with Cristiano Ronaldo — it’s going to be very difficult now — but I was lucky enough to play against him, a legend of the sport,” the Real Madrid forward told BeINsports, as per Mirror.

Kylian Mbappe ranks amongst the best footballers in the world right now. He wrapped up a trophy-laden stint at Paris Saint-Germain and moved to Real Madrid last year. He recently scored a hat-trick against Real Valladolid and is in second place in the Pichichi race with 15 goals. He follows Barcelona forward Robert Lewandoski who leads with 17.

Mbappe will have the opportunity to continue his hot streak later on Sunday when Real Madrid take on Espanyol.

As for Cristiano Ronaldo, the all-time leading scorer in football added another goal to his tally in Al Nassr’s comfortable over Al Raed on January 30. He leads the Saudi Pro League charts with 15 goals in 17 games this season. He will be looking to add some more as the Knight of Najd face Al Wasl on Monday.
