The camaraderie between the Member of Parliament of Asokwa, Patricia Appiagyei, and the Minister of Labour, Jobs, and Employment-designate, Abdul-Rashid Hassan Pelpuo, became evident during his vetting by the Appointments Committee on Thursday, January 30, 2025.

Patricia Appiagyei, speaking highly of Pelpuo, described him as a mentor who has had a significant impact on her professional development.

She expressed her gratitude for his encouragement, particularly his role in motivating her to actively engage in parliamentary committees.

“I’ll call him my mentor. If anybody has been interested in my progress and my work in Parliament, I will name one person who has always been encouraging me, dragging me to committees, especially with the population census we started.

“And he was always encouraging me to do what is right and encouraging me to take up certain paths. And I’m very grateful for that kind of encouragement,” she stated.

The moment took an interesting turn when Patricia Appiagyei asked Pelpuo a playful, yet intriguing question about his marital status.

“Are you a Muslim?” she began, before shifting to inquire about his number of wives.

The Member of Parliament of Wa Central responded candidly by stating that he is married to two women and has six children.

“I have five from one very committed, dedicated woman lawyer and another one from the second who is also a very committed, dedicated lady,” he remarked.
