A number of Manchester United players have dropped a team news hint ahead of the final Europa League league phase tie with Bucharest side FCSB this evening (8pm kick-off).
Ruben Amorim’s side have won four of their last seven games in the competition and are yet to taste defeat. Sitting fourth in the standings, United are in great position to qualify automatically to the round-of-16.
FCSB on the other hand, have had a similar trajectory in the competition and sit just one point from United in eighth. Ahead of the clash, Diogo Dalot, Casemiro, Amad and Altay Bayindir took to social media to post a pre-match graphic preview.
Historically, this suggests they will likely all be involved in some capacity. Casemiro, who’s not played in the last four Premier League games and was also an unused substitute in the win over Rangers, will be eyeing some minutes.
Amad meanwhile, will be hoping for his third successive start in the competition – having been in fine form this season. Dalot, a regular starter for Amorim, will likely be named in the starting XI.
Bayindir was on the bench for the last six European games with Andre Onana taking over before being dropped for the win against Rangers. It remains to be seen whether he will be involved from the start this time around.
Speaking to reporters ahead of the clash, Amorim said: “We have to rotate some players. Everybody is prepared – and it is crucial for us to stay in the top eight and to avoid the play-offs.
“Like I’ve said so many times, we need time to train. We need to rest some players also, so we need to win tomorrow. We have to face the game in a good way, fight for every ball, but to improve with the possession and we’ll try, tomorrow, with the starting XI, to have players with a lot of possession, to control the game, because it’s really important, especially in the beginning.”
Marcus Rashford has been left out of the squad along with Luke Shaw despite him training with the main group at Carrington this week. Jonny Evans and Mason Mount remain unavailable with injuries.
