The Minister of Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has presented the mini-budget for the first quarter of 2025 to Parliament.
The GH¢68.1 billion budget, dubbed “Expenditure in Advance of Appropriation,” is intended to cover Ghana’s expenses from January to March 2025.
Presented during a transition year, the mini-budget is designed to address the nation’s short-term operational needs until the incoming government presents a comprehensive budget for the remainder of the year.
The key components of the mini-budget include funding for the salaries of public sector workers, statutory payments, critical infrastructure maintenance, and social intervention programs.
Following the presentation on January 2, 2025, the Budget and Finance Committees of Parliament have been tasked with conducting a detailed review of the budget.
Their findings will inform subsequent debates and decisions in Parliament regarding its approval.
Parliament is scheduled to reconvene on January 2, 2025, to deliberate on the mini-budget and finalise discussions.
