Liverpool finally got one over Real Madrid as they secured a 2-0 win at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League group-stage clash.

Jurgen Klopp failed to beat Los Blancos in his time as Liverpool boss and the Reds hadn’t won against them since 2009, but those ghosts were finally put to bed last night thanks to a clinical second-half showing.

Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo got their names on the scoresheet to make it five wins from five in Europe for Arne Slot, who can’t seem to be doing much wrong at the moment.

Several Liverpool players stood out on the night, but Ian Rush was blown away by one young player’s performance against Real Madrid.

Starting in place of Trent Alexander-Arnold – who is still working his way up to full fitness – Conor Bradley was tasked with keeping the reigning European champions at bay.

He came up against Kylian Mbappe, who was itching to make an impression at Anfield after a rather lukewarm start to life in the Spanish capital.

However, Bradley wasn’t fazed at all and produced a fantastic showing at both ends of the pitch as he was named Man of the Match.

He started the game with a crunching tackle on Mbappe and didn’t give the Frenchman any space as he capped off a fine display with the assist for Mac Allister’s goal.

Ian Rush sends Bradley message

After the game, Sturridge named Bradley as Liverpool’s best player vs Real Madrid, while Carragher also singled out the Northern Irishman for special praise.

The youngster took to Instagram to thank the fans for their support after a fantastic game of football at Anfield as he posted a series of pictures.

A handful of Liverpool players like Curtis Jones and Ryan Gravenberch reacted with emojis to his post, but the most noteworthy comment was from Rush as he commented ‘Class.’

Slot confirmed that Liverpool will assess Bradley’s injury after he limped off with a potential hamstring problem late in the game.

However, he looked fine after the full-time whistle and was in good spirits, which is a sign that he hasn’t suffered a serious injury.
