According to reports from Ghanaweb, Ghanaian singer Safo Newman has responded to the criticism he faced from fellow musician Shatta Wale regarding his appearance and fashion choices.
Back in May 2024, Shatta Wale, known as the Dancehall ‘King’, voiced his disappointment with the Akokoa hitmaker and his team for not investing adequately in his image.
He described Safo Newman as ‘poverty-stricken’ and advised him to enhance his appearance before promoting his music.
In an interview with Kasapa FM, Safo Newman expressed appreciation for Shatta Wale’s remarks, stating that he and his team are gradually working to improve his brand image.
During a recent conversation with media personality Andy Dosty on the Daybreak Hitz morning show, Safo Newman reiterated that he interprets Shatta Wale’s comments as suggestions rather than criticisms.
He reflected on his response to Shatta Wale, highlighting his commitment to making his followers proud.
“I don’t think that was a criticism. He was just giving some suggestions on my appearance and all that, and I responded that everything was gradual. I actually intend to make all those who follow me proud,” he noted.
Safo Newman assured that improvements to his brand image and appearance are underway, although he recognized that meaningful changes will take time.
