Following the failure of the Black Stars to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, assistant coach John Paintsil has returned to his private duties.
The former Ghana right-back has been captured holding a football clinic where he is expected to impart knowledge and confidence to young footballers.
The event was reportedly held in the Volta Region on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, with John Paintsil among a team of coaches who inspired the young footballers.
In his brief address to the young footballers, John Paintsil urged them to take advantage of the platform provided and showcase their talent.
Paintsil also told the young footballers that he would not hesitate to select players who distinguish themselves during the tournament.
John Paintsil is part of the Black Stars technical team that failed to qualify Ghana for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco.
The Black Stars suffered one of their worst runs in AFCON qualifiers, with the team winning none of their six games played in the qualifiers.
The Black Stars drew three and lost three of the six matches played, picking up six points from a possible eighteen.
The failure of the team to qualify for the AFCON for the first time in two decades has spurred a barrage of attacks on the Ghana Football Association and the technical team led by Otto Addo.
Calls for the dissolution of the GFA and the Black Stars technical team have heightened, with some Ghanaians believing that the team is headed in the wrong direction under Otto Addo.
Meanwhile, the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association is expected to meet today, November 28, 2024, to decide on Otto Addo’s future.
While they are under massive pressure to sack him, reports indicate that the Exco is likely to maintain him and beef up the technical team ahead of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Earlier on Wednesday, Black Stars assistant coach John Paintsil was spotted in the Volta region scouting talents.
