The flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, has unveiled its 2024 manifesto dubbed ‘Women’s Manifesto’, describing it as a comprehensive road map to a better future for Ghanaians.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony in Accra on Thursday, November 14, 2024, she dedicated it to the women of Ghana, pointing out the vital role they play in shaping the nation’s identity and progress.

“Our manifesto is a ‘Women’s Manifesto’, and what this simply means is that we are dedicating it to the women of this country and the suffering women across the continent of Africa. That is why I am asking you to bring me a basket and a machete.

“That is why I am asking you to give me that matchbox. The reason is simply this: every person listening to my voice, every Ghanaian across the continent of Africa and in the diaspora, Ghanaians everywhere, the CPP is here for you,” she stated.

Nana Frimpomaa emphasised the importance of supporting women, pointing out that when you support women to achieve their dreams, you uplift the entire nation.

“When you are here for women, you are here for the nation. It is said that when you educate a woman, you educate a nation. This is because when you lift women up, you lift the uncle, the brother, the husband, and, most importantly, the children,” she added.

According to her, the manifesto represents a blueprint for Ghana’s industrial rebirth and outlines a powerful vision for the future.

“It is an honour to stand before you at this pivotal moment in our nation’s history. Today, I am proud to introduce not just a set of policies but a powerful vision for Ghana’s future—a vision that I call the Women’s Manifesto,” she stated.

She further indicated that the manifesto is a call to action, a commitment to a Ghana where every man, every woman, and every child can live in dignity, participate in prosperity, and shape their destiny.

“This manifesto is a call to action, a commitment to a Ghana where every man, every woman, and every child can live in dignity, participate in prosperity, and shape their destiny in a nation free from dependency, inequality, and foreign domination, the very reason for which we took our political independence.

“This is what the Women’s Manifesto by the CPP is about. The Women’s Manifesto is simple. It is a manifestation of ownership and prosperity,” she stated.

The CPP’s 2024 Women’s Manifesto is built on four central pillars: Economic Ownership and Prosperity, Industrialisation as the Engine of Change, Women’s Empowerment and National Resilience, and Governance at Your Doorstep.
