Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum remains optimistic about his team’s chances of winning the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title, despite their recent dip in form.
The Porcupine Warriors recently endured consecutive defeats to Legon Cities and Heart of Lions, sparking frustration among fans, some of whom have called for Ogum’s departure.
Currently, Kotoko sits third in the league standings with 15 points from nine games.
Despite these setbacks, Ogum remains confident that his team can turn things around and compete for the title.
“It doesn’t mean that it’s over. We still have so many games. The way they have supported us from the beginning, they should keep supporting us that way. They should still have confidence and belief in us,” he told the media.
“They should still have respect for the team, knowing the team is capable of winning games and the championship.”
He encouraged fans to keep faith in the team, emphasizing that they are capable of winning matches and the championship.
“We are very happy with their support. We understand their emotions because they think the team is very good,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will aim to bounce back as they head to Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park to face Bechem United on Sunday in their Matchday 10 clash.
