Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has unveiled his squad for Ghana’s decisive final rounds of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, where the team will take on Angola and Niger.
With Ghana’s qualification on the line, Addo has selected a mix of seasoned professionals and promising talents in a bid to secure back-to-back victories and secure a spot in the AFCON tournament set for Morocco.
Goalkeepers
The experienced trio of Lawrence Ati Zigi (St. Gallen), Abdul Nurudeen (KAS Eupen), and Joseph Wollacott (Hibernian) will anchor Ghana’s goalkeeping department, providing stability at the back.
Defenders
The defense is reinforced with dependable players like Alidu Seidu (Clermont Foot) and Tariq Lamptey (Brighton & Hove Albion), along with young talents such as Jonas Adjetey and Nathaniel Adjei (Right to Dream). The backline also features Alexander Djiku (Fenerbahce), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Basaksehir), and Gideon Mensah (Auxerre).
Midfielders
The midfield will be marshaled by Mohammed Kudus (West Ham United), whose creativity will be vital for Ghana’s offensive play. He is supported by Michael Baidoo, Razak Simpson, Elisha Owusu, Abu Francis, and Ibrahim Sulemana.
Forwards
The forward line includes seasoned figures like Jordan Ayew (Crystal Palace) and Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao), complemented by younger talents Antoine Semenyo (Bournemouth), Ernest Nuamah (Lyon), Issahaku Abdul Fatawu (Leicester City), and Joseph Paintsil (Genk). These attackers are expected to deliver the goals Ghana needs in the crucial encounters.
The Black Stars will face Angola on November 15 in Luanda, before hosting Niger on November 18 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Currently placed third in Group F with two points from four games, Ghana must win both fixtures while hoping for favorable outcomes in other matches to secure their AFCON qualification.
