Libya challenges CAF’s verdict on AFCON qualifier against Super Eagles, files appeal

The Libya Football Federation (LFF) has formally appealed to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to reconsider the penalties imposed on it due to the disruption of the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Nigeria.

The appeal follows CAF’s decision to award a 3-0 victory to Nigeria’s Super Eagles and impose a $50,000 fine on Libya for logistical and organizational failures, which allegedly caused severe delays and inconveniences for the Nigerian team ahead of the originally scheduled match in Benghazi.
