A group of young men allegedly involved in the menace of illegal small-scale mining, popularly called galamsey, received the beatings of their lives from an anti-galamsey taskforce.
A video of the incident, which has gone viral, shows the young men receiving heavy lashes from a man clothed in military uniform.
The accused persons, as they were receiving the heavy strokes on their backs, were forced to laugh.
The man who was beating them could be heard telling them to laugh as he went around whipping them.
The man taking a video of the incident could also be heard saying, “What are you going to drink if you keep on spoiling the water… do you have alternatives to drink from?”
Another member of the taskforce told them to start praying as they were still receiving the beatings.
