Enzo Maresca certainly has some tough calls to make when it comes to picking his Chelsea side for the next Premier League game.
The Blues do not have long to celebrate their 4-1 win over Panathinaikos in the Conference League, with them playing on Sunday against Newcastle United.
A number of fringe players made their case to the boss that they should be in for more minutes in the league.
Mykhailo Mudryk impressed Chelsea fans, while Glenn Hoddle was full of praise for Joao Felix after he found the net twice.
Another player who started after missing the last Premier League game with Liverpool was Enzo Fernandez. Romeo Lavia was preferred to him at Anfield.
Paul Merson calls for Chelsea to recall Enzo Fernandez
He enjoyed a strong outing in Greece, and Fernandez hinted on social media he had been playing in his best position at last.
Paul Merson believes Chelsea would be better of recalling the World Cup winner when they return to the Premier League this weekend.
He said to Sportskeeda: “I liked it when Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo played together against Liverpool because it kept Chelsea defensively solid. But then they couldn’t get the ball out to Palmer.
“Enzo Fernandez is definitely a better passer of the ball and can do that more often compared to the other two. And in all honesty, if Palmer doesn’t touch the ball, Chelsea aren’t winning many football matches.”
There is no doubting the midfielders ability when he is on his game. Mateo Joseph described him as ‘world-class’ last season.
Enzo Fernandez underrated at Chelsea this season?

There is an argument that Fernandez’s role in the side has been underrated this season, with many calling for him to be dropped before he eventually was.
It is fair to say that he is doing a lot of work to facilitate Palmer, and his struggles against Liverpool were clear to see.
Moises Caicedo is certainly going to remain in the starting side, with his performances at an extremely high level so far this season.
