Mo Salah has introduced strict rule that all Liverpool players must follow under Arne Slot

Curtis Jones says Liverpool teammate Mohamed Salah has introduced a new rule at the AXA Training Centre this season as the Reds continue to impress in all competitions.

Ahead of the new campaign, all eyes were on Arne Slot following the unexpected departure of Jurgen Klopp, who attributed his surprise decision to “running out of energy” following a nine-year spell.

How would the squad react to such a big change? Plenty of questions were asked when sporting director Richard Hughes moved to appoint Slot from Feyenoord following a meticulous and data-driven approach.

But the Dutch manager has made a strong start to life at Anfield. Liverpool currently sit top of the Premier League with seven wins from a possible eight and earlier this week, they maintained their unbeaten start in the Champions League.

Spirits will undoubtedly be high after such an impressive start to the campaign and earlier this week, Curtis Jones gave an insight into life at the AXA Training Centre.

The 23-year-old, who has been one of Liverpool’s standout performers this season, opened up on the AXA Centre’s coffee club and what Mohamed Salah has done to keep the conversation flowing.

Speaking about the installation of a new coffee bar at the training ground, he said: “That’s the new place where everyone’s just chilling. We’ve made like a little group now. You’re always either going to see me, Dom [Szoboszlai], Kostas [Tsimikas] and Mo, that’s our little four.

“We’ve now got this little thing where we’re not allowed on our phones when we’re there having coffee. It’s Mo who’s brought in the rule.

“If we’re inside there and I’m on the phone, Mo will tell Dom ‘will you text him and tell him that we’re here and we want to have a conversation with him’. In other words, get off your phone! Why are you always on your phone?”

Jones describes Salah’s gesture as a “little thing” but it also showcases his leadership skills within the group.
