Eugene Boakye Antwi, the Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency, has launched a fresh attack on Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko.

According to Ghana Web on Thursday, October 24, 2024, During an appearance on Okay FM’s Ade Akye Abia program on October 23, 2024, Antwi accused Otchere-Darko of exerting undue influence in the government, asserting that he is regarded by some as an unacknowledged prime minister.

Antwi expressed his concerns about the impact of presidential relatives on government decisions, stating, “Gabby Otchere-Darko, the Ghanaian prime minister whom no one has elected. that is what people call him and he gets excited by it.”

He argued that Otchere-Darko’s presence in government has resulted in the elevation of individuals affiliated with the Dankwa Institute, a think tank he founded, over other deserving party members.

“Since NPP came into power, two people; Ken Ofori-Atta, who has run the economy aground, and Gabby Otchere-Darko, who is behind the scenes making appointments, are still doing it, We are not afraid of anyone, we are only quiet because of the love we have for the party,” he said.

Antwi also questioned Otchere-Darko’s authority to influence government actions, given that he has never been elected to any position.

“Who has given him the right to speak in this Ghana; who is he?, Yesterday we were going to Parliament to take decisions and he was sitting on social media telling us what to do,” he added.

Otchere-Darko has often been labeled as wielding significant power within the administration.

Critics have pointed out that his informal influence has raised concerns about accountability in governance, given that he holds no official position within the government.
