Trouble For NDC As NPP NAPO Alleges He Has Evidence Showing Their Nuns Teaching Homosexuality

In an interview with Kwame Sefa Kayi, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), the Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made controversial claims about the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its role in implementing Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in Ghanaian schools.
Dr. Prempeh stated that the NDC had completed a curriculum in 2020 that included CSE, which covered topics such as homosexuality.
He further claimed to have evidence showing that educational leaders from the NDC had met with various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and religious groups, including nuns, to discuss and teach the practice of homosexuality within schools.
Although he did not provide detailed evidence during the interview, Dr. Prempeh suggested that the information was credible and verifiable.
This statement has sparked widespread debate, with some education experts and political figures questioning the authenticity of his accusations.
The NDC has yet to issue an official response, while critics of CSE argue that the curriculum promotes values that conflict with traditional Ghanaian beliefs.
The issue of CSE has been a hot-button topic in Ghana, with varying opinions on whether it is necessary for addressing sexual health and rights among young students.
As the 2024 elections approach, education and social policies are becoming increasingly pivotal in political discussions.
