Lawyer Maurice Ampaw has made explosive comments about Asante Bediatuo, the former Executive Secretary to President Akufo-Addo. According to Ampaw, Bediatuo’s past actions have come back to haunt him, and he won’t have a chance at the presidency even if Bawumia wins the election.
Ampaw attributes Bediatuo’s downfall to his harmful actions as Executive Secretary, which led to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) losing some of its members. Moreover, Ampaw accuses Ken Ofori-Atta and Gabby Otchere-Darko of perpetuating harmful deeds that are now boomeranging against them.
In a personal anecdote, Ampaw revealed that during his last visit to Gabby’s office, Otchere-Darko snubbed him, failing to acknowledge his presence. This, Ampaw claims, is indicative of Gabby’s conduct, which has hurt many party members.
However, Ampaw’s tone changes when discussing Bawumia, whom he describes as humble and respectful. “The Bawumia I know respects everybody and doesn’t discriminate,” Ampaw said.
Ampaw’s comments come at a crucial time in Ghana’s political landscape. As the NPP navigates internal conflicts and external challenges, Ampaw’s words serve as a reminder of the importance of accountability and leadership.
It’s worth noting that Ampaw has been vocal about his concerns regarding the government’s actions in the past. His comments have sparked intense debate, with some calling for greater transparency and accountability within the NPP.
