Majority of of parliament and member of parliament for Effutu Alexander Kwabena Afenyo-Markin has said that lawyer Tsikata refused to represent the National Democratic Congress in court during the 2020 elections results challenge because he did not want to go and disgrace himself in the Supreme Court.
Speaking today on Adom TV, the honourable member of parliament alleged that the National Democratic Congress approached the highly esteemed Lawyer to represent them in court after they sued the Electoral Commission for cheating the elections in favour of the New Patriotic Party. However, according to Afenyo-Markin, the National Democratic Congress did not have any evidence to prove that the elections was rigged.
He said after Asiedu Nketia approached Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata for him to represent the party, he asked for their evidence but Asiedu Nketia could not get a single evidence for Tsikata. This made Tsikata to refuse their request to represent them in the supreme court because of his hard earned reputation.
“Dishonesty is the bane of the NDC as they sought to change the results of the 2020 elections when they knew that had lost. They went to court with no evidence. When they went to Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata, he told them without the evidence, he cannot go and sacrifice his image at the supreme court, so they should go and bring their evidence.” he said.
