Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei recently stirred up conversation on X by questioning the chances of former President John Dramani Mahama becoming president again. Osei, a supporter of the NPP, believes Mahama’s time in office is over, despite support from well-known pastors.
In his post, Osei responded to the ongoing accusations against the NPP, especially those linking the party to illegal mining (galamsey). He pointed out that illegal mining is not just the NPP’s problem, members of the NDC, influential people, and even religious leaders are also involved.
“Let me be clear,” Osei wrote, “Even if every pastor in this country prayed and anointed Mahama, he wouldn’t win. The accusations against the NPP, especially about illegal mining, won’t work. Both NPP and NDC members, along with others in society, are part of this issue.”
Illegal mining has been a problem in Ghana for years, and efforts to stop it have often failed.
