Nations FC and Bibiani Goldstars drew 1-1 in Sunday’s Ghana Premier League contest at Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Nations made the breakthrough in the 38th minute of the contest, with Faisal Charwetey scoring the opener, and the hosts were causing plenty of issues in forward areas.
Nations FC quality ultimately shone through as the second period developed, though, with Kelvin Oppong making it 1-1 in the 80th minute after smart work to turn the game around to spark jubilant scenes inside the stadium.
The home side’s goalkeeper Kofi Mensah was at full stretch to keep out a couple of powerful drives in the second period, with Frimpong Manso’s team dazzling as they made 13 shots on target with a 56 percent ball possession compared to Nations FC’s 44 percent.
Both sides were forcing the issue in the latter stages, but neither could find a second, with the points being shared at the end of an entertaining contest in Ghana’s top flight.
Goldstars have risen to the first spot of the log with 12 points, while Nations FC have moved into 5th, with Kassim Mingle’s side now on ten points in Ghana’s top flight this term.
